La Ferme at Cours du Fleuve gîte complex is one of my four gîtes located by the river Dordogne. The property is for two adults only. It was the original farm house and gives a taste of authentic life in rural France . All my gîtes are classified four stars.
It is separate from the other gîtes and more secluded and romantic, but still has access (by a short walk around the back) to the shared heated swimming pool (12m x 6m open from May to October) and large gardens. It has an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with super-fast wireless internet throughout. The kitchen has all the amenities including washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, cooker, oven, hob, microwave and coffee machine. The lounge has a smart TV, log burner, satellite TV with both French and English channels. There is also a DVD player and several books and DVDs to choose from. Downstairs there is a shower room. The master bedroom has a high-beamed ceiling and a feature standing bath. Behind the partition for privacy is the toilet and wash basin. Outside on the private patio, with views down to the Dordogne river is a stunning seating area and BBQ, perfect for lazy summer days. There is also a games room for those rainy days with a table tennis table and table football. Bicycles can also be stored in the room. Although we are rural there is the town of Lalinde close by and the village of Tremolat across the river.
For those who like a more active holiday there are plenty of cycle and walking routes right on your doorstep, including the amazing viewpoint over the Dordogne near Tremolat. There are small beaches located along the river for those who like to try wild swimming. Water sports such as sailing and canoeing are also located nearby. Further afield you have sites of interest such as the caves of Lascaux and Chateau Milande.

La Ferme du Cours du Fleuve, est un gîte très agréable avec beaucoup de cachet. Il est très bien équipé, bien placé pour faire des balades à vélo ou pour visiter toutes les richesses naturelles et historiques des alentours. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par notre hôte, Katarina.
